CHAROLAIS CALF DIES
(N.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, June 12. The first Charolais-cross calf in New Zealand was born prematurely at the Ruakura Research Centre early tonight and lived for only a few hours. The calf, born from a Jersey cow, was about six weeks early and was the first progeny from about 600 dairy cows inseminated during the 1965 mating season with deep frozen Charolais semen imported from Britain.
