SHOTS OF MOON
U.S.-Soviet Exchange
(N Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) WASHINGTON, June 10. The United States and the Soviet Union have ex- ■ changed photographs of the moon taken by their spacecraft, the State De-
partment announced today.
The department said the United States welcomed the exchange as a contribution to scientific knowledge. Mr Robert McCloskey, the department spokesman, said a set of photographs of the moon taken by Russia’s Luna IX last February had been received in late May.
American photographs of the moon, taken by the Surveyor spacecraft last week, were dispatched yesterday to Heads of State and scientists of more than 100 nations, including the Soviet Union.
