Macdonald Reserved

"The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND.

MacDonald, top-weight in the Campbell Hurdles at Ellerslie tomorrow, will not run. His trainer, W. J. Hillis, said yesterday MacDonald was well but it had been decided to reserve him for races further ahead. The Great Northern Hurdles winner will be going south early next week for the Hawke’s Bay winter meeting with his stablemates, Koral, Eiffel Tower and Turtle.

Koral, Eiffel Tower and MacDonald seem to be recovering well from their racing at Ellerslie last weekend. Hillis is hopeful that given firmer footing at Hastings, Koral and Eiffel Tower will show form more like their best

Additional riding engagements for Ellerslie are:— B. F. Andrews: Wonderbar. N. B. Holland: Prince Arra-

gon. P. J. Kempton: Apolima. R. Walsh: Treble, Count Lin. B L. Hillis: Explicit. W. T. Day: Count Mein. Mr G. Tims: King’s Credit. G. R. Edge: Nurmi, Forebrace. N D.
