Aranui Makes First Crossing
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 9. The Cook Strait weather was kind to the Aranui today when she made her first crossing to Picton. She was under way promptly at 10 a.m. with a full load of 55 cars, 37 railway waggons and about 200 passengers, many of them Government officials and representatives from Marlborough who attended a special function on board the ship last evening. On her arrival, the Marlborough Harbour Board also gave a function to welcome the ship.
