Lines Bros. (N.Z.) reached a net profit record at £48,614, for the year ended December 31, last after £40,766 for tax, against £38,203 the year before, and depreciation of £25.477, a rise of £4941. Earning rate increased from 8.8 per cent to 10 per cent on shareholders’ funds, higher by £23,889 at £485,702. Directors recommend unchanged distribution of £25,000 on ordinary shares, with an 8 per cent dividend, equivalent to the 10 per cent dividend before the one-for-four bonus issue last year which increased the paid capital from £250,000 to £312,500. An unchanged transfer of £15,000 to general reserve leaves a balance to be carried forward of £49,185 against £40,296.
