APPEAL BY CLAY
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LOUISVILLE (Kentucky), June 9. The United States Armed Forces drafting board has rejected an appeal by the world heavy-weight boring champion, Cassius Clay, to be registered as a conscientious objector, it was reported in Louisville last night. But Colonel E. Stephenson, director of Kentucky's selective service, said he knew nothing of this. “If the appeal board had acted on the heavy-weight champion's case, I am sure ho would be notified,” he said.
