SCHOOLED WELL
Royal Burgh As Juniper
"The Press” Special Service DUNEDIN.
Royal Burgh (B. P. Ken- ■ nedy) again showed his potential as a jumper when he easily outdistanced his stablemates, Belloch (C. G. Mee) and Startler (R. A. Low), over a round of six flights of hurdles at Wingatui yesterday.
Both Royal Burgh and Belloch gained qualifying tickets. Belloch will race in the Otago Hack Hurdles on Saturday, but Royal Burgh’s entry into jumping wjll not take place for a while yet. Side Saddle, which was recently placed when a member of W. M. Turner’s stable at Washdyke, has joined H. A. Anderton’s stable. He will oe ridden by W. C. Gye in the Otago Hurdles on Saturday and will be later educated over country.
Saliblue has been scratched from the Electric Stakes No. 2. The decision was made after the Dogger Bank filly galloped with How Exciting (S. B. Robertson) and Jaykay (A. McKeown).
Her companions ran five furlongs on the plough in Imin ssec, but Saliblue was outdistanced. The only other trial was a half-mile recorded by Swashbuckler (B. P. Kennedy), Silver Paper (G. C. Mee) and Sweet Call (P. McKay) in 53 2-ssec. The course proper at Wingatui was drying up well and it will probably be open for fast work today.
