SYDNEY
The market continued to follow a slight upward trend in heavy trading on the Sydney Stock Exchange yesterday. Leading stocks were a shade firmer. The share price index gained 1.51 to 320.57.

MELBOURNE
Industrials were firmer, led by key stocks on the Melbourne Stock Exchange yesterday. Riises were well in excess of falls. Most base metals and oil Improved but Western Mining lacked support and dropped 28 cents to 473 and Mount Isa was down 5 cents to 394.
