Prince In The Woolshed
Prince Charles, heir to the British throne, has tried his hand at sheep shearing during his school term in Australia. With fellow students at Timbertop, the mountain college of the Geelong Grammar School, he spent three hours at a shearing shed near the Victorian town of Mansfield.
He saw sheep shearing in progress, the wool being classed, and the bales of fleece being pressed. Under the direction of a professional shearer—many of whom are capable of shearing 300 big merino sheep in a day—Prince Charles finished the shearing of one sheep.
