CAFE FIRE IN NELSON
Incendiarism Suspected
(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, June 7.
The police are investigating la fire which caused several hundred pounds damage in the Kiwi Cafe, Nelson on Sunday morning. The premises were shut at 8 p.m. on Saturday and the Nelson Fire Brigade was called at 9.33 a.m. the next day. The interior of the dining room, shop and part of the kitchen was badly damaged by the blaze. The proprietor, Mr M. C. Bensemann, said today he believed the fire had been lit deliberately. The outside window of a toilet had been broken and inside the toilet there was a strong smell of kerosene.
