BURGLARIES PREVALENT
Thefts During Week-end
Property valued at £B4 was stolen when the premises of Dunlop New Zealand, Ltd., in Lane street, Woolston, were broken into over the holiday week-end. A house in Jarrow place, Haiswell, was entered during the same period, and £6O in money stolen from a bedroom.
Between May 21 and June 4 10 golf dubs valued at £5l were stolen from the Waitikiri Golf Club in Bottle Lake road. Tools valued at £26 were stolen from an unlocked garage in Woodbury street during the week-end. The premises of R. C. Rollo, Ltd., at 31 Balfour terrace, were also entered during the weekend and car and truck keys valued at £2 were stolen. Property valued at £l6 was stolen when a house in Hawthorne street was entered during the holiday period. Lake’s Cash Shoe Store, Ltd., at 409 Colombo street, was also entered but nothing was stolen.
The premises of Reese Brothers, Ltd., at the corner of Lincoln road and Moorhouse avenue, and of Packer and Jones, Ltd., at 25 Churchill street were entered during the week-end, but nothing was stolen. Money and clothing to a total value of £4 3s were stolen when a house in Brougham street was entered between 2.45 p.m. and 3.45 p.m. yesterday.
