DECISION DEFERRED

School Cert. Changes An opinion on the proposed revision of the school certificate examination was deferred for a month by the Hillmorton High School board of governors last evening. Tyndall):■ Parents are partly to blame for this. The headmaster (Mr P. A. Murdoch), said that if a single-subject certificate was to be issued he would favour a reasonable pass standard of perhaps 50 per cent.

Mr C. E. Fenwick said that he would be more satisfied with four or five certificates showing gradings.
