Course For Fathers

A course for fathers, planned by the Canterbury Play Centre Association, will be sponsored by the Department of Extension Studies of the University of Canterbury. On June 14, 21 and 28, lectures and discussions will be held in the Kindergarten Training College on the corner of Park terrace and Salisbury street Dr. J. J. Small, a senior lecturer In education at the university, will be the speaker for the first two evenings. The father of six young children, he will discuss “Fathers, Family and Society” and "Fathers and their Pre-school Children,” indicating some w'ys in which fathers can share the parental role and contribute to the development and adjustment of their children.

The second speaker, a Christchurch psychiatrist, will show and discuss the film “The Angry Boy.” The film depicts the anti-social behaviour of a boy at school, his relationships with his parents and his doctor and his gradual understanding of his problems. All fathers Interested are invited to enrol by telephoning Mr I. Densem (516-079).
