GROOMING TUITION

Cuban Classes On Pavements (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter) HAVANA. Cuba’s fashion leaders have started nation-wide pavement classes at which correct dress and hair styles and good manners are taught. Organised by the Bureau of Fashion Orientation under the auspices of the Internal Trade Ministry, the classes are held on busy pavements outside fashion shops at 6 p.m., a time when many Cuban workers are going home. Fashion experts give directives on good manners and courtesy, and on the best way to dress in accordance with the latest trends—and the limited materials and cloths available.

Instruction is given concerning make-up and hair styles, including home permanent waves.

Although primarily intended for women, the classes also welcome men to learn good manners—and male fashion trends are included.
