The policy committee of the Labour Party will consider establishment of a Ministry of Youth. This was the recommendation accepted tonight by delegates to the Labour Party conference. An amendment that the remit on establishment of a youth ministry be rejected was lost.

It was moved by Mr A. J. Little, a Silverstream branch delegate and a social worker He argued that parents should take care of their children. It was their responsibility and not .the State’s.
