VACANCIES—PROFESSIONAL Northland Hospital Board, MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT—KAWAKAWA HOSPITAL APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED from qualified Medical Practitioners for the whole time position of Medical Superintendent, Kawakawa Hospital, Kawakawa. The Kawakawa Hospital is situated in a rural area, the available beds being 46 general and 18 maternity. The Medical Superintendent will be responsible to the Medical Superintendent-in-Chief for the provision of hospital treatment for patients in the Bay of Islands Hospital district, and for the efficient management of the Hospital services pertaining to the care and treatment of patients. He will be responsible for carrying out all medical and surgical work at the hospital. He will be required to co-operate with the panel of Specialists appointed by the Board and expected to seek their advice in more difficult cases pertaining to their speciality. A higher qualification is desirable but not essential. Salary in the range £2415/2555/2710/2800 or £2BOO/2900/3005/3100. This is subject to determination by the Medical Officers’ Salaries Grading Committee according to qualifications and experience. An unfurnished house is available at an annual rental.
