(From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT, May 10. A Westport child is in a grave condition in the Buller Hospital after being struck by a goods train at the Queen street railway crossing at 3.15 p.m. today. He is Grant Griffen, two-year-old son of Mr and Mrs E. Griffen. The child is suffering from brain injuries and a foot was amputated. He was playing with children in a nearby residence and wandered on to the crossing. The train crew were ignorant of the accident and it was only some time later that they discovered that it had occurred.
