Pope Urges Action : <N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) VATICAN CITY. May 11. I Pope Paul called yesterday for more rehabilitation centres to turn prostitutes away from their trade and make them into “exemplar}’ wives and mothers,” the Associated Press reported. He was speaking at a special audience for members of the World Federation for the Abolition of Prostitutes, now meeting in Rome. The Pope told members, almost all women, that he approved “of the zest with which the association studies the moral, social, political hygienic and family aspects of one of the worst scourges of society.”
