MELBOURNE PROTEST
Festival Parade Blocked (A'.Z Press Assn. —Copyright) MELBOURNE, March 14. About 40 youths and girls protesting against the Vietnam war scuffled with police at the intersection of Bourke and Swanston streets at the height of a Melbourne Festival parade today. The police cleared the demonstrators from the road in about five minutes and the procession was able to continue. Police said no-one was injured in the incident which developed when they tried to stop the demonstrators sitting in the parade’s path. They said action might be taken against one youth.
