Helicopter To Drop Poles

WHANGAREI, March 11.

A helicopter will drop 30 power poles into position to help the Ministry of Works and Bay of Island Power Board to bring electricity to Cape Brett lighthouse and nearby cottages. It is ex’pected to take only three hours to drop the poles into position across six miles and a half of rugged country. The helicopter will take another three hours to drop wires over the cross beams on the poles, a mile length at a time.
