Some experience in process development or food plant design and operation would be desirable but this is not essential particularly for a Chemical Engineer or a Food Technologist. FUEL ENGINEER An Engineer or Technologist is required for work on fuel and heat usage in dairy factories. This involves investigational and development work on heating methods and equipment for dairy plant and supervision of field test work. Suitable academic qualifications are 8.E., Grad. 1, Mech.E or A.M.lnst.F. and experience is desirable but not essential. The salaries for both positions will depend on qualifications and experience, but will be between £ll6O and £2OOO p.a. Because these positions entail close liaison with dairy factories and organisations, personal responsibilities are considerable and prospects for advancement excellent.
