The Service, which is being established for the first time, is located at Kadina, which is in the mid-north of South Australia, 90 miles from Adelaide. It will serve 36 farms occupied in cereal and mixed farming and all farms are within a 30 mile radius. The district is well established, progressive, and prosperous with an average rainfall of 15 inches. Kadina has adequate school, cultural and recreational facilities. The normal period of employment is for three years initially, with reappointment and promotion determined by performance on the job. Assistance with housing and a motor vehicle is provided and superannuation is available. Removal and relocation expenses will be paid. It is desirable that applicants have a degree in Agricultural Science or its equivalent, and possess an enthusiastic and progressive outlook.
