AMBULANCE AWARDS

19 Cadets Qualify

Nineteen cadets in the Canterbury and West Coast District of the St. John Ambulance Brigade have been awarded the Grand Prior’s Cadet Badge. The badge is the premier cadet award of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, and is the only cadet badge which mav be worn on the Brigade’s adult uniform. It requires qualification in 12 subjects other than First Aid, and a minimum service period of three years.

The badges will be presented by the Commissioner of the Canterbury and West Coast District (Lieutenant Colonel G. L. Falck). Cadets awarded the badge were:

Christine Duffeill, Denie Gelling. Diane Laird and Patricia Williams (Ashburton Nursing); lan Morgan (Christchurch Ambulance); Marion J. Bennett and Marilyn J. Robinson (Beckenham Nursing); Valerie E. Hastie (Cranraer Nursing); Bruce R. Butler (Christchurch No. 3 Ambulance): Monica B. Slade and Catherine M. Lilly (St. Matthews Nursing); Elizabeth A. Philpott (Selwyn Nursing): David J. Snook (Wharenui Ambulance); Christine M. Bancroft (Wharenui Nursing): Patricia K. Boyle, Diane M. Hui me, Irene R. Kissanowski, Sally Popplewell and Lynda J. Sturrock (New Brighton Nursing).
