P.O. To Have House Flag
The Post Office is to have a house flag for display at all Post Offices on which flagstaffs are installed, said the Chief Postmaster (Mr J. W. Lincoln) yesterday. The flag which is blue in colour, depicts the Post Office crest in red, white, grey and black in an upper central position, with the words “Post Office” in white, below the crest. Most Post Offices have flagpoles and in keeping with what is done by many other large business concerns it has
been decided that the Post Office should have its own house flag. It will be raised when business begins daily and lowered not later than 5 p.m. The New Zealand Ensign will continue to be flown on national days and on all occasions as at present. The flag was unfurled for the first time by the Post-master-General (Mr Scott) at the opening of the new Greerton Post Office yesterday and will be flown at all offices from Monday next.
