N.Z. Leaders Again Give Market A Lift
Further advances by key New Zealand stocks again gave the market a lift yesterday, but the slide by Australian leaders continued. Myers featured with a fall of 3s to 28s.
Among New Zealand gains Tekau added Is to 16s 6d in first business for almost two weeks, while Rex Aviation jumped Is 9d to 15s after firming on home market quotation. New Zealand Refrigerating rose 3d to 13s 9d, Alex Harvey 5d to 345, Rothmans 4d to 24s lOd, Seabrook Fowlds 6d to 19s and Whitcombe and Tombs 6d to 20s.
P. and O. up 5d at 29s ex dividend, and H. C. Sleigh up 2d to 5s 9d made the only advanced in the overseas list. Further falls were made by C.8.A., A.C.1., G. J. Coles and Woolworths.
