.. Smither Returns
B. R. Smither, a former Canterbury and New Zealand Universities representative flanker, who retired from Rugby in 1964, will be playing for the University dub again this year.
r A fast and very intelligent 1 loose forward, Smither rep- ; resented New Zealand Unii versities against the British - Isles in 1959. He was then > 19, and in his first year of senior club Rugby. He played for Canterbury in 1961 and 1962, but was not a regular member of the side although he continued to be chosen for New Zealand Universities sides and toured Australia in 1960. If Smither can regain the form that made him such an outstanding prospect when he first played senior Rugby he could help soften the blow caused by the retirement of D. J. Graham.
