880 Yd Time 2nd Fastest

(N.Z. Press Association} AUCKLAND. N. K. McDell. the Auckland miler, stole a march on the national half-mile champion, G. F. Philpott, and the runner-up, R. B. Hamilton, when he beat both over 880 yards in Imin 50.1 sec at Mount Smart last evening. McDell's time was the second fastest in the country this season, behind Philpott's Imin 50sec of late last year.
