CONTROL OF FLOODING
Little River Streams Plans to improve flood control in the Little River streams were put to a meeting of ratepayers at Little River by the North Canterbury Catchment Board, whose chief engineer (Mr E. B. Dalmer) explained the proposals, and answered questions. Those present at the meeting gave their approval to the scheme, but, said the Wairewa County CouncH’s clerk (Mr W. F. Aydon), it was unfortunate that more ratepayers had not been present. “The board will report to the council on the area of the special rating district that will be set up to finance the scheme, and as soon as that is available, all the ratepayers affected will be given opportunity to inspect the engineering report,” said Mr Aydon.
