Delighted
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 9.
Eighty ■ three • year - old John Munro was delighted when he received a cable from his son George just before he sailed for New Zealand in the Oriana, because George’s name had been engraved on a tombstone in Kirriemuir, near Dundee. A New Zealand friend had written to Mr Munro to say that George had died about 18 months ago. So George’s name was added to the inscription on the tombstone of his mother, who died in July, 1964. Mr Munro thinks that the friend must have confused George with another son, Alex, who died in New Zealand about that time. Reunited in Auckland today, Mr Munro learned that George had heard of the trip from his brother’s widow.
