COMMERCIAL Continued Improvement By Some N.Z. Leaders
Continued improvement by some key New Zealand stocks gave the market a lift yesterday. There were almost twice as many rises as falls in the New Zealand list. Declines still outnumbered advances in the overseas list but this section was not as weak as the day before. , Wright Stephenson, Alex Harvey, Fletcher, Golden Bay, Neill Cropper. Rothmans and Winstone recovered further. Enzlon rose 2d more to 2s 6d in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland sales. Reid Rubber added 3d to 26s 9d.
There were three rises in the overseas list: Ampol, Colonial Sugar and Mount Isa. C.8.A., A.C.1., B.H.P. and Woolworths slid further.
