FIRST FLOCK SHEEP COMPETITION

For the first time in the history of the Mayfield Agricultural and Pastoral Association, a flock sheep competition will be held soon after the show on Saturday. Although not part of the show, the competition will be run by the association and will be open to all farmers in the district.

The five classes in the flock sheep competition are:— Class one: Romney or Romney Cross ewe hoggets. Class two: Shorn Romney or Romney Cross ewe hoggets. Class three: Corriedale or Halfbred ewe hoggets. Class four: Romney or Romney Cross twotooth ewes. Class five: Corrie-

: dale or half-bred two-tooth - ewes. ’ There will be a trophy : awarded to the winner in each ' section and another, given by > Mr D. S. Sewell, awarded to I the exhibitor with most points : in the five sections. Two special trophies have ■ been given by Mr H. R. Scott,

: to be awarded to the best exhibitor in the Romney twotooth section and to the ■ exhibitor who has the best i pen of Romney two-tooths. A rejection rate of 15 per cent will be allowed on ewe : lambs and a rate -of 5 per cent of two-tooths.
