TV At A. & P. Shows
Concern at the effect of television coverage on shows of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association, and a belief that the position would have to be carefully examined before the association went any further in allowing live telecasts from the show, was expressed by the association’s treasurer (Mr A. H. Gould) yesterday. Mr Gould was speaking at the annual meeting of the association. He said the deficit for the year was £3575. A considerable amount had required to be spent on the grounds, and wages and maintenance both showed substantial increases on the previous year.
