Compared with Sydney closing rates on February 24. the Goulburn wool market today was par to 2| per cent dearer for all descriptions of Merino fleece and skirtings. Comebacks and crossbreds ruled fully 2i per cent dearer. There was keen and widespread competition from the Continent, Great Britain and Japan, with good support from Australians. Approximately 5600 bales were offered with practically a total clearance. i Clips generally were good :to average spinners with a ■few top-making lots also on offer, in nice order and fairly well grown.
