THE DAIRY RESEARCH INSTITUTE (N.Z.) CONTINUED RAPID STAFF EXPANSION, made possible by the completion of a new building to house the Institute, has made available the following positions for which applications are invited:— PROCESS DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER OR TECHNOLOGIST A Junior or Intermediate Professional Staff Member to work on development of processes for new dairybased food products is required. Excellent research and pilot scale facilities exist and are constantly being extended. Suitable academic qualifications are either 8.E., B.FoodTech., Grad. I, Chem.E., Grad. I, Mech.E., or B.Sc. Some experience in process development or food plant design and operation would be desirable but this is not essential particularly for a Chemical Engineer or a Food Technologist. FUEL ENGINEER An Engineer or Technologist is required for work on fuel and heat usage in dairy factories. This involves investigational and development work on heating methods and equipment for dairy plant and supervision of field test work. Suitable academic qualifications are B E., Grad. I, Mech.E or A.M.lnst.F. and experience is desirable but not essential. The salaries for both positions will depend on qualifications and experience, but will be between £ll6O and £2OOO p.a. Because these positions entail close liaison with dairy factories and organisations, personal responsibilities are considerable and prospects for advancement excellent.
