AID FOR ZAMBIA
Agricultural Machinery (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 8. New Zealand will give £20,000 of agricultural equipment to Zambia under the special Commonwealth African assistance plan. The equipment is for eight farm institutes, an agricultural training school, a regional agricultural experimental station and the Natural Resources Development College. The items —tobacco harvesters, ensilage kits, rotary slashers, top-dressers, rotary mowers, hay crushers, milking machinery and ploughs—will be shipped to Beira, Mozambique, and railed through Rhodesia to Zambia. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said negotiations were also in hand to assign two or three agricultural advisers to Zambia for employment either with a proposed State farm organisation or within the Department of Agriculture.
