China Policy
Sir, —Everyone knows that communism breeds on misery and want, and Mr Ross makes the too common error of assuming this gruesome creed is the answer. The so-called advanced nations have had their eras of misery and want but have risen above it without resorting to communism. The Asian people will do, and are doing, likewise. The people of Kerala State in India, after a period of Communist rule, threw it out hook, line, and sinker. They were lucky they were in a position to get rid of them. As Mr Ross mentions Russia, it is worthy to note she has exploded the bomb of all bombs and since boasted of a bigger bomb still.—Yours, etc. L. j. JONES. Nelson. March 5. 1966.
