Seeking Adviser The Ministry of Works is: calling for applications for; the new position of landscape architect in its head office in ' Wellington. The landscape architect will advise architects and engineers in charge of design and construction on Ministry of Works projects throughout New Zealand. Initially he will be occupied mainly with the Wellington motorway scheme but he will be available for consultation on works elsewhere. —(P.A.). Airmen Recruits Fourteen members of the No. 42 airmen’s recruit course will end their training with a passing out parade at the Royal New Zealand Air Force station, Wigram, tomorrow morning. The Lawson Cup for the best all rounder on the course will be presented to Aircraftman J. T. Laws, the Hawea Shield for the best all rounder at physcial training will be given to Aircraftman A. Harris. Both men are North Islanders. £122 Given A further £35 18s has been received by the Canterbury : branch of the New Zealand Foundation for the Blind for Mrs M. A. Gray, the 72-year-old pensioner widow whose house in Sydenham was burgled last week. This brings the total donations from sympathisers to £122 12s. The branch has placed the money in safe-keeping for Mrs Gray. Not Identified
He could not identify a dead sheep thrown into the Wairewa County Council’s rubbish pit at Birdlings Flat because its ears had been cut off, said the inspector (Mr R. W. McCreanor) at a meeting of the Banks Peninsula Hydatid Control Committee. He was left to make more inquiries.
