RACES FOR HOLY HAL

Two More This Season "The Press" Special Service INVERCARGILL. The Hal Tryax colt, Holy Hal, unbeaten in his three two-year-old starts to date, will have only two more races this season. He will contest the New Zealand Welcome Stakes at Addington Raceway next month, and the New Zealand Sapling Stakes at Ashburton in June. Holy Hal was the third winner of the New Zealand Kindergarten Stakes when driven by D. Todd, who won the classic with Jurist in 1964 and with Kildare Kate, which was owned and trained by D. Keenan, of Edendale, a part-owner of Holy Hal. Todd was most enthusiastic about Holy Hal’s latest success. “Apart from being pushed three wide in the middle stages he had a good run,” he said. R. M. Cameron will drive at Timaru on Saturday. He will take the Timaru Nursery Stakes candidate, Killadair, north and drive him. Killadair finished a close third in the Kindergarten Stakes. He tangled near the half-fur-long when Cameron pulled him out quickly. Cameron said: “He would not have beaten Holy Hal even if this had not occurred.” Cameron also will drive St. Nazaire in the Timaru Cup.
