FUTURE OF ROYALIST

The Government has no intention of putting the “retired” Royal New Zealand Navy cruiser Royalist back into service, according to the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake). “There has been no serious , suggestion that the Govern-! ment should bring the Royal- ( ist back into service,” he said. | Mr Holyoake was comment-1 ing on reports that pressure had been brought to bear by defence sources for the cruiser’s recommissioning. The Royalist is being used as a training ship at Devouport Naval Base, Auckland.
