£350 Raised At Concert
A cheque for £350, the proceeds of a presentation of Haydn’s “The Creation” in the Civic Theatre on Saturday evening, was presented during the interval by the president of the Christchurch Lions’ Club (Dr. W. R. Holmes), to the national secretary of C.0.R.5.0. (the Rev. H. C. Dixon) for the Free-dom-From-Hunger Campaign. The concert, by the club, was given by the Christchurch Harmonic Society’s choir and the Christchurch Civic Orchestra.
