Report On Singlets

(A'.Z. Press Assn.— Copyright) SYDNEY. The case of Melbourne athletes wearing advertisements on their singlets will be referred to the annual conference of the Amateur Athletic Union of Australia in Perth this month. The union secretary, Mr Hodsdon, has called for a report on the matter from the V.A.A.A. secretary, Mr A. Robinson. Ron Clarke and the leading distance runner, John Boyle, were among athletes who ran at an invitation meeting in Melbourne last Thursday with their singlets displaying the name of a breakfast cereal. The Victorian Executive Committee has cleared the athletes of claims that they had infringed their amateur status.
