VITAL CATCH DROPPED.—The England vice-captain, M. C. Cowdrey, lashing at a ball from the New Zealand off-spinner, T. Puna, during the third day’s play in the second cricket test at Dunedin yesterday. The ball flew to M. J. F. Shrimpton at mid-wicket but he was unable to hold the catch. The slip fieldsman is G. P. Bilby and the wicket-keeper, E. C. Petrie. Cowdrey was then on 35 and by stumps had reach 57 not out.
