Confessions Fictitious

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, March 7. A woman who had confessed to several fictitious thefts so that she could go back to prison was remanded under section 37 of the Mental Health Act by Mr J. D. Murray, S.M., today. The woman is Sylvia May Roche .aged 21, unemployed, who was appearing for sentence on a charge of being idle and disorderly. The Magistrate said that since Roche appeared unable to give a reasonable explanation as to why she wanted to go back to prison he would try to find out in another way.
