Heir To Fortune Missing
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 7. A Devonport man who is said to be heir to £164,000 from a large English estate has been missing since November 2.
The man is Mr Donald Wilson, aged 63, a retired chief engineer, who lived at 96A Victoria road, Devonport. The head of the Takapuna police division. Chief Inspector T. Jones, said today that wide inquiries had been made. The possibility that Mr Wilson had signed on a ship as an engineer has been checked without success. Passenger and crew lists of ships, aircraft and trains were all checked without success. The wife of the missing!
man, Mrs Vivian Marjorie Wilson, told the police that her husband was due to inherit £lO,OOO on November 5 and £154,000 on December 31. The money was from a I large estate in Britain. i Mr Wilson had about £2OO in his possession when he disappeared. All his best clothes were taken. The missing man is six feet two inches, of thin build with grey thinning hair. He has ruddly complexion, hazel eyes and a moustache, and walks with a stoop. He is English-born. i
