Cactus Society Conference
One hundred and twentypersons from branches all over New Zealand attended the eighteenth annual conference of the Cactus and Succulent Society in Christchurch. The conference was opened by the Mayor (Mr G. Manning) who presented the Evelyn Harrison Trophy to the Wellington branch, winners of the New Zealand interdub competition. Officers elected are: patron, Mr J. B. Davy; Dominion president, Miss E. M. Harrison; vice-president, Mr R. L. Russell: Dominion secretary, Mrs A. Jelavich: acting treasurer, Mr R, L. Russell; executive board memebrs. Mesdames N. H. McDonald, M. L. Williams, J. Carlton, Miss T. Becker. Messrs T. J. Boland, D. M. Decker: editor. Mrs A. B. Turnwald; circulation manager, Miss D. Wright
