Increased Entries At Winchester Show

With entries in the main stock events well up on previous years and an increase in the attendance, the annual autumn show’ held by the Temuka and Geraldine Agricultural and Pastoral Association at Winchester on Saturday maintained i its usual high stand- i ard. The Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys), who officially opened the show, congratulated officials and exhibitors on a very fine effort and display He was introduced by' the president (Mr J. R. Sheed), who thanked the public for their support and his officials for their work. Apart from the exhibits, trade displays and horse events in the show ring, added atractions were the New Zealand Army Band under the conductor (Lieutenant J. D. Carson) and Drum Major B. Flint. A static display of a 251 b field gun was given by members of the 3rd Field Regiment. The grand parade was impressive. and was headed by the Temuka Highland Pipe Band.
