Peterman Hurt

“The Press’* Special Service WELLINGTON. The leading three-year-old Peterman was injured in his paddock after Saturday’s racing and is to be spelled. He will not race again this season. The cause and exact nature of the injury is unknown, according to his trainer, W. C. Winder. But the trouble appears to be high in a hind leg or in the hindquarters. This is exceedingly bad luck for owner, Mr F. C. Johnstone and the trainer, and also the public. The meeting between Peterman and Terrific in next Saturday’s New Zealand St. Leger would have been the highlight of the meeting, especially in view of Terrific’s fine gallop after the races on Saturday.
