Haglund’s 7th Century The United batsman, Paul Haglund, scored his seveth century this season with a score of 105 against Akaroa in the Banks Peninsula senior cricket competition. P. Johnstone (Le Bons) hit 119 in two hours but it was not sufficient to prevent Kaituna from winning comfortably on the first innings. Points are:—United 96, Le Bons 73. Akaroa 73, Little River 70, Kaituna 57, Wainui 39. Kaituna 206/4 (D. Turner 83, P. Dunbear 89; P. Johnston 2/78) beat Le Bons 203/5 dec. (P. Johnston 118 not out, C. Grigg 24, R. Small 24 not out). United 249/6 dec. (D. Marshall 63, Paul Haglund 105; J. Carradus 4/99) beat Akaroa 112 (J. Carradus 54; I. Plummer 5/34. R. Kay 2/22). Wainui 150/9 beat Little River 123.
