Sauna baths are provided at both British Empire and Olympic Gaines. In New Zealand top sportsmen are seizing on the home sauna bath to improve their health and help them maintain their first-class physical condition. Two of this country’s international golfers are home sauna enthusiasts. And dozens of provincial Ranfurly Shield Rugby players are installing baths in their homes. A.D.S. iTonyi Smith the Wellington professional golfer, has this to say about the bath: “In the first four months 1 had my sauna bath I used it three times a

week and lost 251 b in weight without any major variation in diet” Bill Skelton, tor many years right among the cream

Both these top sportsmen have no hesitation in recommending the home sauna for sporting enthusiasts. In the racing held, particularly, sweat baths have long been a vital method ot losing quick pounds before a big race. The Taranaki Kugby team took a home sauna with them on tour and the team has become a fan of the sauna heat bath. The sauna is put to almost constant use and it is not unusual to see a husky Taranaki forward embalmed to the neck Now the nome sauna offers a method far more effective and safe than the steam baths of old. The dry heat of the sauna allows high temperatures to be endured with great comfort rather than the discomfort associated with steam baths.
