Two-Tooths At £7/9/-
Ewe fairs are a talking point in farming circles these days. A Mid-Canterbury reader has forwarded a newspaper report of the recent Wyndham two-tooth fair in Southland where values are apparently a shade ahead of North and Mid-Canterbury. Some 1200 young Romney ewes sold there brought £7 or more. Mr H. E. Holms, of Waimahaka, sold 290 at £7 9s and also 400 at £7 2s. Mr W. H. Holms, also of Waimahaka, was paid £7 4s for 210.
In Mid and North Canterbury the top price paid for two-tooths at the fairs so far is £6 17s received both at Tinwald and Little River.
